John Vincenzo is here!!!

So, little man decided he was not leaving my belly on his own! So after I went to the doctor on Monday after my due date and I was 1-2 cm dilated she scheduled me for induction on Wednesday, I would be 40 weeks 4 days at that point. We got to the hospital at 8 am. By the time they put in the Cervadil it was 10 am. I did not know how long that was going to take, but my doc said she would be back at 6 to take it out and check me. I wasn’t supposed to eat anything, but the nurse let me have a small snack around 11 am. I was DYING. I snuck a piece of bread and half a nutri-grain bar at one point and ate like 4 jello’s since I was allowed that. They checked ne after taking out the cervadil at 8 pm and I was still 2 cm, UGH! They gave me an hour to clean up and walk around, I ate some more jello and juice and then they started the pitocin. I was doing ok for about 2 hours but the pain was getting kind of bad. They told me not to let it get out of control so they could manage it so I got some Nubain.  My doctor came back to check at 2 am. I think she thought I was going to be ready to go at that point. BUTTTTT I was still at 2 cm. I was getting upset but the only good thing was that the drugs were making it so that I was able to sleep, which made things a lot more bearable.

So we continued the Pitocin and she would be back at 6 am to check. About 2 hours later the pain was bad even with the nubain so it was time for the epidural, yay! 4 am was epidural, at 5 am she broke my water.  8 am she came to check and I was only 3 cm., but I was 100% effaced.  I was starting to get really upset. I am thinking after all this I am going to need a c section.  So they took me off the pitocin for about 3 hours to give my body a break. At 11 they started it again, I was 4 cm but was starting to lose my mucous plug fast.  Right around 12 I started feeling crazy pressure, the epidural was not helping the pain and I told the nurse I have crazy pressure and feel like I need to PUSH! She grabbed my doctor who was about to go to lunch and she checked me, I was FULLY DILATED! YAYYYYYYY!!! I was so happy. Then I realized I still had to push him out lol. I got a boost of my epidural since I was feeling way too much pain and the thought of pushing through that was too much for me to deal with. The doctor let him come down some more and then at 1 I started to push.  Since I barely felt anything or remember any pain pushing with Gia, I was in for a surprise. This was HARD! Which of course seems silly, but damn I had to use all my strength and after not eating for like 24 hours it was hard. I guess I was doing pretty good because I progressed fairly quick. Once I got the hang out of it I just wanted him out! At  1:47 pm,  John Vincenzo entered the world. He was HUGE! My doctor was impressed because he was almost a full 2 pounds heavier than Gia, weighing 8 lbs 4 oz. He was well worth the wait and I am so so in love. I feel like my little family is complete and I truly could have never asked for anything more.

Here are some pictures of our hospital stay and my beautiful baby boy :)

tick tock tick tock

Soooo we are still waiting on baby boy's arrival! Gia was exactly a week early so I had week 39 as like my end date this whole time, which was silly but one of those things you can't help but thinking. As of right now I am 39 weeks 3 days... with really no signs of anything happening! I have been trying lots of different things... walking, squats, stability ball, sex lol. Oh well I guess this baby will be here when he is ready!
I just can't wait to meet him and want to see what Gia's reaction is going to be!!!

20 months!

Wow, so weird to say this because ever since I got pregnant this has been the milestone in my head - how old Gia would be when the baby was born. I remember in July when I found out I was pregnant, Gia had JUST turned 1. She was so little and so easy lol. People would always give me the side eye when I told them how far apart in age they would be, I always thought 'I can handle it, no biggie' then the past 2 months John and I were like OHHHHH that's what people were talking about lol. Luckily, the last few weeks with her have been amazing. She has been so much FUN to be around and the tantrums have been few and far between... Here are some new things she has been up to:

-talking SO much. seriously i think she has like 75 words or more if you include all of her animal sounds. my favorite she makes is an owl - she does a realllly good 'hoo hoo'
-naming everything! my fave is when she names me (mama) and herself (gg) so damn cute. she knows dada, sadie, mimi, melmo, minnie, daisy, big bird... i think that is it. some random ones here and there.
-is absolutely OBSESSED with the dog. to the point where it is weird, no just kidding. but every morning she wakes up its 'hi sadie' and sadie has to be everywhere she is, while eating, playing, etc. for a few weeks we had to bring her up for naps and bedtime, i am trying to phase that out though!
-she can do her puzzles that have pictures on the bottom, can kind of count to 10 when we count with her and same thing with the alphabet.
-she loves music. in the car i am always amazed how quickly she picks up on all the songs on the radio.
-has a mean throw!
-loves coloring and making everyone 'sit sit' with her at her little table.
-she is wearing size 2t in all tops and 18-24 in pants. she has a skinny little waist but is super LONG! her hair is finally growing but is in a kind of awkward stage, i am thinking in a month or so we will have to cut it to give it a little shape because it is kind of out of control.

I think that is it! I have been stressing about being later than i was with baby boy but seriously the past few days the weather has been amazing and i have had the best times with her. Here are a few pics I took of her before we went to the park the other day... love this little girl :)

Here is my 39 week bump pic - I never got to take one of these with Gia!
I was trying to get a pic of her kissing my belly, she does it all.the.time and every time I try to take a picture, she won't - GRRRR!
 hugs... she melts my heart.
being silly with her fave stuffed animal.
cannot believe this is my BABY, she is completely a little girl now!
I love you SO much Gia, every day I cannot believe how lucky I am to have you. You are beautiful, smart, funny and so loving. I am so proud that you are my daughter!

baby boy's nursery

yay it is finally done, all i have to do is make the button letter when he is born and he officially has a name :) i love the furniture and overall it came out great. it was so much different to decorate a boys room, i didn't want to go overboard with a theme and i'm not really one for corny stuff so we did a color scheme of navy blue, red and taupe with sports accents... here are the pics!
here is the crib
we are using the same char we had in gia's room
 bookshelf
 window valances
football lamp, this is my fave accessory :)
 dresser
 storage organizer and some shelves
 sports mobile

I still want to get a few more things but i don't know what! and i have a print i have to frame, plus put some actual pictures in the picture frames i bought. i love how it came out, now all we need is the little guy to complete it :)
